Before the Lake dried up there were reports of a bipedal Lake monster affectionately named wade; that would feed on fish ducks and small children. According to the old timers he was the most feared and notorious local legend. However when the oil companies hit the Springs and made the Lake run dry Wade wasn't seen for a very long time. According to some of the older residents Wade still lives on the edges of the Lake however;
