Ghost Sightings From Argyle

Arthur had taken up art and was showing his wife Gertrude his latest paintings. - Yes Arthur, this one is really nice, and this one too. But oooh what is this hideous thing, that's the ugliest picture I've ever seen, please take it away before I puke my guts out honey. - But Gertrude dear, that one is not one of my paintings, that's a mirror. Arthur was sitting in the bathtub shivering. - G G Gertrude D d d dear.. C c call D d doctor R R Rueprecht and ask him if I really need to take these pills with cold water. Delbert the farm worker went to pick up Arthur the farmer at the airport. - Did anything unusual happen while I was gone Delbert? - No, Arthur, nothing unusual. - What's that in the back of the truck? - The burned pigs. - Burned pigs? - Yes the barn burned down Arthur. - The barn burned down? - Yes, it was ignited by the burning house. - The house burned down too? - Yes, one of the candles fell over. - Candles? What candles? - The ones by your wife's coffin. - My wife's coffin? Gertrude died!!? - Yes, Gertrude fell off the roof. - What was she doing on the roof? - She was drunk. - Well, that's nothing unusual. - Right Arthur like I said, nothing unusual happened. . Dad, I think I'm old enough to drive the car. - Yes son, you are. But the car isn't. Arthur was going about his days with his wife Gertrude when he noticed that she wasn't responding to him anymore when he called her. He had to get right up next to her for her to hear him. Concerned, he went to Doctor Rueprecht and asked him if it could be that his wife was going deaf. The doctor agreed it was a possibility and suggested he go home and try calling her from different distances to see how bad it actually was. So Arthur went home and while his wife was making dinner, he called to her from the living room - ''Gertrude, what are we having for dinner?'' No answer. He stepped a few feet closer and called again - ''Gertrude! What are we having for dinner?'' Again, no answer. He was getting worried. He walked to the kitchen door and again asked, ''Gertrude! What are we having for dinner?!'' Again! No answer. Upset and nervous, Arthur stepped up right next to her and again posed the question - ''Gertrude, what are we having for dinner?'' She turned around and said, ''For the LAST TIME - MEATLOAF!!'' .
